Talk: The Story of Parivaar

Vinayak Lohani is the founder of Parivaar (http://parivaar.org/), a home for destitutes, tribals and the children of prostitutes located in Kolkata, India. He is a recipient of the president's award for child welfare. Vinayak graduated from elite schools in India - B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur and MBA from IIM Calcutta. After that, with a resolve to serve humanity, he started his social enterprise Parivaar with three kids in a rented house. It has since grown to 1000+ resident children and is considered to be a model institution for the overall development of destitute children. It has won many awards and accolades. In this talk, Vinayak will takes us through the story of Parivaar and social entrepreneurship in India.

Vinayak Lohani

Vinayak Lohani, the Founder of Parivaar, did B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (2000) and MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2003). He did not appear for the placement process at IIM, and immediately after his MBA, started Parivaar.
