Writer and journalist Jamie Bartlett came to Google London to talk about his book 'The Dark Net'. Beyond the familiar online world that most of us inhabit - a world of Google, Hotmail, Facebook and Amazon - lies a vast and often hidden network of sites, communities and cultures where freedom is pushed to its limits, and where people can be anyone, or do anything, they want. Bartlett himself stepped down into this world that is as creative and complex as it is dangerous and disturbing, and tells stories about what he experienced as a participant in the dark net.
Jamie Bartlett is a journalist and tech blogger for The Telegraph and director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media at Demos. His main interests are technology, society, politics, research methods, and internet culture.
