British/Swiss writer Diccon Bewes visited Google office in Zurich to talk about his new book "Swiss Watching". Quoting houseofswitzerland.org: "Diccon Bewes is a travel writer who grew up in Hampshire but lives in Bern. He has spent the past seven years exploring the bits of Switzerland he'd never heard of before, while grappling with German grammar, learning how to make perfect muesli and overcoming his innate British desire to form an orderly queue. And eating lots of chocolate."
Diccon Bewes grew up in deepest Hampshire. He got a degree in International Relations from LSE and an 18-month world trip set him up for a career in travel and writing.
One country, four languages, 26 cantons, and 7.5 million people (but only 80% of them are Swiss): there's nowhere else in Europe like it. In a fascinating journey around Europe's most individual and misunderstood country, Bewes proves that there is more to Switzerland than banks and skis, francs and cheese.Find out more
