Justin Lin and John Cho came to Google to Talk Star Trek Beyond, their history with Star Trek, and their careers. Star Trek Beyond is about a surprise attack in outer space that forces the Enterprise to crash-land on a mysterious world. The assault came from Krall, a lizard-like dictator who derives his energy by sucking the life out of his victims. Krall needs an ancient and valuable artifact that's aboard the badly damaged star ship. Left stranded in a rugged wilderness, Kirk, Spock, Sulu and the rest of the crew must now battle a deadly alien race while trying to find a way off their hostile planet.

Justin Lin

Justin Lin is a Taiwanese American film director whose films have grossed $2 billion worldwide. He's best known for his work on Better Luck Tomorrow, The Fast and the Furious 3-6 and Star Trek Beyond. His work on television includes Community and the second season of True Detective. He attended UCLA and earned a BA in Film & Television and a MFA in Film Directing and Production from the UCLA Film School.

John Cho

John Cho was born in Seoul, South Korea, but moved to Los Angeles as a child. He began acting with the famed Asian American theater company East West Players. His breakthrough came when he appeared in the teen romance comedy "American Pie" which lead him on the hit comedy "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" and the successful franchise reboot "Star Trek" and "Star Trek Into Darkness".

Star Trek Beyond

Dispatched on a rescue mission to the farthest reaches of space, the USS Enterprise is ambushed by Krall whose sworn against the Federation. Captain Kirk, Spock and the crew are separated with no means of escape. Jaylah, a rebellious alien warrior, can help them reunite and find a way off the planet in a race against time to stop Krall's deadly army from triggering all-out galactic war.
