Kevin Kwan, author of “Crazy Rich Asians” and his latest novel “Rich People Problems", discusses his wayward creative journey, books, “Crazy Rich Asians” movie, Asians in Hollywood, Asians in Tech, Asians in Asia versus Asian Americans, and his Asian mother. In 2013, Doubleday published Kevin’s first novel, "Crazy Rich Asians", which became an international bestseller and has been translated into 13 languages. The final book in the trilogy, "Rich People Problems", debuted on the New York Times Bestseller List at No. 12. Earlier in 2017, Warner Brothers announced they had greenlit "Crazy Rich Asians" and the movie is currently in production.

After obtaining his first degree in creative writing from the University of Houston, Kevin moved to Manhattan to pursue a BFA at Parsons School of Design. Kevin's early years in the city were spent working for Martha Stewart Living, Andy Warhol's Interview magazine, and M&Co, the legendary design firm founded by Tibor Kalman.
