Optimize an Allergy Fighting Landscape

Talk: Optimize an Allergy Fighting Landscape

Most people think that allergies are an unavoidable force of nature, and resign themselves each year to another season of suffering and drugs. But Tom Ogren, creator of the OPALS® plant allergy ranking system, shows that we only have ourselves to blame for the shocking increase in allergy rates, now at epidemic levels. Human (horticultural) tinkering over the past 30-40 years has resulted in a landscape that is making us sick—and if we don’t stop now, it will only get worse. In his new book, "The Allergy-Fighting Garden," Ogren explores the ways that we can protect ourselves, educate our communities, and transform our planet for the better.
