Rigoberta Menchu is a Guatemalan civil rights activist who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992. Through the years, she has done a lot to fight for indigenous rights in Guatemala, and is also passionate about women's and environmental rights. She is currently a partner of One Billion Acts of Peace.

Rigoberta Menchu is a K'iche' political activist from Guatemala. MenchĂș has dedicated her life to publicizing the rights of Guatemala's indigenous feminists during and after the Guatemalan Civil War, & to promoting indigenous rights in the country. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992. She has also become a figure in indigenous political parties and ran for President of Guatemala in 2007 & 2011.
