Writer, producer, director Alex Garland visits Google to discuss his directorial debut movie, "Ex Machina." "Ex Machina," is about young coder at the world's largest internet company, wins a competition to spend a week at a private retreat belonging to the reclusive CEO of the company. Upon his arrival, he learns that he must participate in a bizarre experiment which involves interacting with the world's first true artificial intelligence, which comes in the form of a beautiful female robot.

Alex Garland is an English novelist, screenwriter, film producer and director, best known for his work as the screenwriter of 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Never Let Me Go and Dredd. Garland rose to prominence in the late 1990s with his novel The Beach which received universal acclaim with many critics lauding Garland as a key voice of Generation X.
