Talk: California's New National Monuments

David Lamfrom, Director of the National Parks Conservation Association’s California Desert and National Wildlife Programs, visited Google’s office in Mountain View, CA to discuss the ongoing conservation work in California’s deserts. The designation of Sand to Snow, Mojave Trails, and Castle Mountains as National Monuments is regarded as one of the most significant conservation acts in modern US history. This action has connected iconic National Park lands, including Joshua Tree and the Mojave National Preserve, to interstitial mountain ranges and drainages, providing large-scale ecological sanctuary for both plants and animals.
